Jessica Simpson to Live in New York City 12/31/05

Jessica Simpson is planning to abandon California in favor of New York City, following her split from husband Nick Lachey.

The singer/actress, who filed for divorce earlier this month (DEC05), wants to live in the city's luxurious Chelsea area, and recently viewed a $5 million duplex with a giant conservatory and heated floors. A friend tells gossip site PageSix, "She wants to start fresh, and she loves New York. It's always been good to her."
