David Gest to Give "I'm a Celebrity" Co-Star Jason Donovan Career Assistance  12/6/06

Music mogul David Gest hopes to use his influence in the music world to help relaunch Australian singer Jason Donovan's pop career.

Gest, who was befriended by the singer-turned-actor during recent British reality TV show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, says he'll do "everything he can" to get his new pal on track for musical success.

John Ashby, a close friend of Gest, says, "David struck up a friendship with Jason and it'll last for years.

"David knows all the right people. He loves to help friends and get them to play in shows he puts on."

Donovan rocketed to fame alongside former love Kylie Minogue in Aussie soap opera Neighbors, and enjoyed a string of pops hits in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
