American Idol Star Elliott Yamin Gets New Teeth  12/8/06

Appearing on American Idol has paid off for singer Elliott Yamin - he has a brand new smile thanks to a comment he made on the show.

Diabetes had rotted the wannabe pop star's teeth and he was left with a crooked smile as he belted out tunes on the most recent season of the TV talent contest.

But after confessing he dreamed of having a better smile during one of his last performances, he has been inundated with dental offers.

He says, "The next thing you know I got offers from dentists all over the country to fix my teeth for free."

Yamin, who has just landed a new publishing deal with Sony, now has a totally new look - and a great smile.
