Kate Winslet refuses to let daughter Mia see pictures of super-skinny women - and fears she'll grow up thinking US size zero is the norm.

Titanic actress Winslet is the latest actress to slam the growing trend for extreme thinness, but admits she's terrified her daughter will develop body issues.

She says, "Young girls are impressionable from 11 up to 19 or 20 even. What I resent is that there is an image of perfection that is getting thinner and thinner.

"It's so damaging. It's only a matter of time before Mia becomes aware of it and it frightens the life out of me."
