Will Smith Shuns Scientology  12/18/06

Will Smith has laughed of rumors he has become a Scientologist, insisting he would upset his late grandmother by adopting the religion.

The I, Robot star is a close friend of outspoken Scientologist Tom Cruise, and was a guest at the Top Gun actor's wedding to Katie Holmes in Italy last month (NOV06).

But Smith insists his friendship with Cruise has had no influence on his spiritual beliefs.

Smith tells British newspaper the Daily Star Sunday, "My grandmother would get up out of her casket if I became a Scientologist."
