Ed Norton Happy for Salma Hayek's New Show  12/18/06

US actor Edward Norton is stunned by his ex-girlfriend Salma Hayek's new TV hit Ugly Betty, and is desperate for a role himself.

Ugly Betty, starring America Ferrera, is based on a popular Spanish-language telenovela from Colombia called Yo Soy Betty La Fea or I am Ugly Betty.

Ferrera plays a plain New York City girl who manages to find a way into the fashion world.

Norton - who dated Hayek from 1999-2003 - is blown away by the series, which she created and produced. And he confesses he's planning to get in touch with her about securing a cameo.

He says, "I'm really happy for Salma. She deserves it."
