Nicole Kidman to Sue British Newspaper Over Perfume Claims  12/3/07

Actress Nicole Kidman is taking legal action against a British newspaper over claims it jeopardized her position as celebrity spokeswoman for a perfumery.

The Moulin Rouge! star is suing the Daily Telegraph over claims Kidman preferred Jo Malone's White Jasmine and Mint scent to the product she endorses, Chanel No.5.

The article stated Nicole had been "dabbing it on whenever she had a moment" while in the U.K. to promote her new film The Golden Compass.

A statement from law firm Schillings - which is acting on Kidman's behalf - insists the allegations were "entirely untrue" and "grossly defamatory".

It adds, "We have been instructed to obtain an immediate retraction of such allegations and are taking separate action against the Daily Telegraph."
