Terri Seymour: "Simon Cowell Hates Romance"  12/5/07

Simon Cowell is "horrified" by the idea of romance - despite having been with girlfriend Terri Seymour for five years.

The music mogul has been dating 33-year-old Seymour since 2002, but has vowed never to marry or have children.

And despite Cowell's image as an acid-tongued judge on TV shows American Idol and The X Factor, Seymour insists there's a soft side to the 48-year-old.

She says, "We'll do something remotely romantic and he'll joke, 'All right, that's two minutes of that, that's enough.' He hates the idea of a romantic dinner.

"He's romantic in the sense that he likes to take me away, to beautiful hotels for weekends. But if you hint that something is slightly romantic, you can see the horror in his face."
