Nicole Kidman Thrills Sick Kids at Compass Screening  12/19/07

Nicole Kidman stunned sick kids at the Sydney Children's Hospital in Australia on Tuesday (18Dec07) with a visit.

The Aussie actress hosted a screening of her new hit film The Golden Compass for the young patients facing Christmas in the hospital, for which she's an ambassador.

Wearing a form-fitting black dress, Kidman posed for pictures and signed autographs at the Moore Park hospital.

She then spoke to the kids and their families, stating, "This is a small gesture and I would just like to say I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year."

Kidman added a cautionary note: "I play a villain in this film, so to all the little kids - don't stay."

The star then told her captive audience that she hopes to screen the movie she's currently filming, Australia, for the kids and their families next Christmas (08).

But it was Kidman who got the night's best surprise when a seven-year-old cancer patient she met at a screening of Happy Feet last Christmas (06) presented her with a bouquet of flowers.
