David Beckham Reveals Boyhood Ballet Secret  12/24/07

David Beckham has confessed to an embarrassing secret - he wore ballet shoes and knickerbockers as a young boy.

The soccer ace donned the effeminate outfit, complete with long socks, in preference to a suit when he was a page boy growing up in Essex, England.

The 32-year-old tells British newspaper The Sun, "My dad gave me a little bit of stick (sarcastic comments), but I was happy."

This is not the first time Beckham has owned up to a girly streak. The L.A. Galaxy and England player was snapped in a sarong during a holiday in France in 1998.
