Lindsay Lohan Hits Back at Drunk Driving Claims  12/27/07

Lindsay Lohan denies allegations she had been drinking alcohol at celebrity hotspot The Ivy just before a 2005 car crash in Beverly Hills.

Raymundo Ortega, the driver of the car Lohan smashed in to, alleges the actress was driving under the influence as part of his $200,000 negligence lawsuit.

But, in a 15 December (07) declaration, Lohan insisted she was sober when she got behind the wheel of her car - and had not touched alcohol while dining at The Ivy.

Filed on Friday (21Dec07) in Los Angeles Superior Court, the declaration was accompanied by a statement from the waiter who served Lohan, and a police officer working security at the restaurant.

Both state Lohan did not drink alcohol during the lunchtime visit to The Ivy.

Lohan is countersuing Ortega, claiming that he was at fault for the accident - because he performed an illegal U-turn.
