Kevin Federline: 'Britney Spears Is A Great Mother' 12/9/08

Kevin Federline has praised his ex-wife Britney Spears' parenting skills - insisting the singer is a "great" mom. Federline split from the Toxic hitmaker in 2006, and was awarded custody of their children Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, two.

But despite their acrimonious break-up and Spears' public meltdown, Federline insists the pop star is a brilliant mother.

He tells Hello magazine, "I haven't been around her too much in the last couple of years but other than that, she's a great mother. Really hands on with the kids.

"She spends a lot of time with them. She loves to play with them a lot. She really cares about them and I know they're a big piece of her life."

He adds: "I'm happy that they get to spend time with their mother. I wouldn't have it any other way. I definitely feel like their mom is really, really important in their life and it is really working out well right now."
