Eva Longoria to Host ALMAs 2/2/06

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria is set to host the rejuvenated American Latino Media Arts Awards (ALMA) after a three-year hiatus.

America's National Council Of La Raza started the ALMAs in 1995 to counteract the negative portrayal of Hispanics in entertainment.

Longoria will host the star-studded ceremony at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium on 7 May (06), which honors actors, directors, musicians and producers.

Longoria enthuses, "I wanted to produce it so I could control what I was wearing."
