Kelly Clarkson Stunned by Film Reference  2/4/06

American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson was shocked when she heard comedian Steve Carell shout out her name when he had his chest waxed in hit film The 40 Year Old Virgin.

Carell's character prefers to exclaim, "Aaaah, Kelly Clarkson!" rather than scream obscenities when he undergoes the painful process of removing his body hair.

Clarkson says, "I was with eight friends and we were shuffling in really late to a movie and the previews were on and there was a preview for The 40-Year-Old-Virgin. All of a sudden he (Carell) yells out my name.

"All of us were looking at each other and we were like, 'Did he just same my name? I swear he just said my name!' Then the movie came out and it was really cool!"

The singer had no idea that her name was going to be used in the movie and hasn't met Carell in person.

She adds, "I'd love to meet him! It's awesome that he shouted my name when he was getting waxed!"
