Nick Lachey Pokes Fun at His Break Up With Jessica Simpson  2/16/06

Lovelorn singer Nick Lachey poked fun at his marriage break-up with Jessica Simpson when he was honored by America's Cosmopolitan magazine yesterday (14FEB06) but confessed he was "afraid" of life as a single man.

The former 98 Degrees singer was among those honored at this year's Cosmopolitan Fun and Fearless Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

In his acceptance speech he told guests, "I'm really intrigued by this book.

It's called A Break-UP Because It's Broken... I wish I'd read that a few years ago.

"It's a little ironic to receive the Fun and Fearless Award right now because, in some ways, I feel that, at this point in my life, I've never been more afraid."

Lachey and Simpson ended their three year marriage late last year (05).
