Oprah
Winfrey Bring Killer and Victims Family Together
2/2/07
Oprah
Winfrey staged a dramatic meeting between a killer and the family of the
teenager he murdered a decade ago (97) on Wednesday (31JAN07). Nathaniel
Abraham, 21, was scheduled to confront Ronnie Greene's family on camera on
Winfrey's daily talk show, but his attorney cancelled the taping at the
last minute after watching the media queen "mediate" an apology
from his client during a pre-show chat.
Lawyer
Daniel Bagdade admits he was riveted by the exchange, set up in a private
office at her Harpo Studios headquarters in Chicago, Illinois.
Bagdade
says, "We ended up doing the apology in Oprah's office. It was
incredible." The lawyer gave no explanation why he pulled the plug on
a planned TV show appearance. Abraham was just 11 when he shot Greene, 18,
with a rifle in 1997. He was convicted of second-degree murder five years
ago and he completed juvenile sentence on 18 January (07).
