Terry Nelson, a rock-and-roll singer from Longview, WA, trades places with Doreen Andrews, an unappreciated housewife from Boston, MA. Terry quickly finds out that the Andrew girls, Gina, 23, and Melissa, 21, spend their nights partying and their days sleeping, while Doreen is somewhat dismayed by Mark Nelson’s rocker ways and his original views on parenting and life.
