Cupid's Arrow Strikes Medium With Corinne Bailey Song Wednesday  2/14/07

CUPID’S ARROW STRIKES “MEDIUM” WITH GRAMMY NOMINATED ARTIST CORINNE BAILEY RAE’S ROMANTIC SONG “LIKE A STAR” TO BE FEATURED THROUGHOUT WEDNESDAY'S EPISODE

Grammy nominated Best New Artist Corinne Bailey Rae’s hit song “Like A Star” will be featured throughout Wednesday's special Valentines Day episode of MEDIUM. Hot off Sunday’s Grammy performance where she performed her hit single “Like A Star,” alongside John Mayer and John Legend, Bailey will bring her romantic song to the small screen. The episode entitled “The One Behind The Wheel,” will air Wednesday, February 14 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on NBC.

Creator Glenn Gordon Caron stated, “I am a great fan of and a great believer in the idea of using a single popular song almost the way you use score. It is almost impossible to think of "The Graduate" without thinking of Simon and Garfunkle's "Sounds of Silence", or "Breakfast at Tiffany's" without Mancini's "Moon River" or "Titanic" without "My Heart Will Go On". Wednesday's episode of "Medium" was conceived as a kind of Romantic Odyssey for Valentine's Day and I was hoping we'd find a piece of contemporary music with just the right sense of bittersweet longing and melancholy to compliment it. From the first listen, Corinne Bailey Rae's "Like A Star" mesmerized me. The lyrics speak to the transforming power that love has when it walks into your life and her voice imbues it all with a simultaneous sense of wonder and sadness and joy that created a perfect blend for our show".

In the episode, after awaking from a dream, Allison (Emmy Award winner Patricia Arquette) is convinced she's a completely different person named Sandra. When she doesn't snap out of it, Joe (Jake Weber) turns to Scanlon (David Cubitt) for help, while struggling to reach his wife.
