Dr.
Phil & Gwen Stefani to Appear on Post Oscar Jimmy Kimmel Special
2/19/07
"JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE" ANNOUNCES GUEST LINEUP FOR POST-ACADEMY
AWARDS(r) SPECIAL
Dr. Phil McGraw and Gwen Stefani will appear on ABC's second annual
"Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Academy Awards,(r)" with a special
cameo appearance by Academy Awards host Ellen DeGeneres. The show will be
broadcast live from the El Capitan Entertainment Center in Hollywood on
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 25 (12:05-1:05 a.m., ET, approx.), following the awards
telecast and local news.
This don't-miss installment of the fastest growing late-night talk show
will include a monologue jam-packed with awards-related jokes, a lively
chat with noted psychologist and talk show host Dr. Phil McGraw in his
first ever appearance on "JKL," a blow-out musical performance
by Gwen Stefani, and a taped comedy piece with DeGeneres. Additionally,
"JKL" correspondent and security guard Guillermo will show off
his acting skills by performing in scenes from each of the five movies
nominated for Best Picture.
On its first post-Award telecast in 2006, "Jimmy Kimmel Live:
After the Academy Awards" delivered the show's third-highest numbers
ever at the time in Total Viewers (4 million) -- behind only its two
post-Super Bowl telecasts (on 1/26/03 and 2/5/06). Guests for last year's
show included Jon Stewart, Quentin Tarantino and Johnny Knoxville.
Season to date, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" has increased its
overall audience by 11% from the same point last season (1.78 million vs.
1.60 million) and is up by 17% in Adults 18-49 (0.7/3 vs. 0.6/4). In fact,
"JKL" is up the most season to date in Total Viewers, and is the
only late-night entertainment talk show to post year-to-year increases in
Adults 18-49. Recent high caliber guests include Sylvester Stallone, Billy
Crystal, Howard Stern, Courteney Cox, Forest Whitaker and Justin
Timberlake. "Jimmy Kimmel Live" has also presented such events
as the final concert of Destiny's Child and an un-retiring concert from
Jay Z, as well as Quentin Tarantino and J.J. Abrams directing shows.
Jimmy Kimmel and Jill Leiderman serve as executive producers of
"Jimmy Kimmel Live." Jason Schrift and Douglas DeLuca serve as
co-executive producers. "Jimmy Kimmel Live" is shot live in
front of a studio audience and produced by Jackhole Industries in
association with Touchstone Television.
