Angelina
Jolie Hits Back at "Thin" Compliments
2/7/08
Actress Angelina Jolie has slammed admirers of super-thin celebrities -
urging people not to compliment women who are underweight.
The Good Shepherd star shrank several dress sizes after losing her
mother, Marcheline Bertrand, to cancer last year (07), and hated being
praised for her skeletal figure.
The 32-year-old - who is rumored to be expecting another child with
partner Brad Pitt - would rather be criticized for losing weight, in order
to stop young girls following suit.
She says, "People think it is a compliment to say to someone,
'You're thin.'
But it really isn't.
"In fact, I like it better when people say I'm too thin. Then I
think, 'Good, good, tell everyone and let it be a criticism.' I do not
want to be too thin, because it's not healthy."
