Kate Hudson has secretly harbored a lifelong ambition to skydive - but insists motherhood has kept her from pursuing the extreme sport.

The 28-year-old has longed to parachute, but axed her daredevil aspirations after becoming a mother to son Ryder, four, in fear she may be seriously injured.

She says, "Jumping out of a plane seems exhilarating.

"But when you become a parent, you don't want to be jumping out of planes any more."
