elusive $1 million cash prize. Will he be the one to go all the way?
When the Banker sends Oklahoma City firefighter Ryan Gleghorn a
revealing surprise at the top of the game, he receives some unexpected
support from his colleagues. But as the game continues, will Ryan Gleghorn
be able to take the heat? Or will he be hosed by the Banker?
"Deal or No Deal" premiered on December 15, 2005. In the
history of the show, 11 contestants have held the million dollars in their
case, but have been unable to go the distance for the top prize.
Determined to give away the top prize, the Million Dollar Mission first
started on September 26, 2007. For every contestant who did not win the
top prize of $1 million, an additional $1 million briefcase was added to
the board. Last fall, over the course of three weeks, the Million Dollar
Mission went up to a total of eight $1 million cases, but no one took home
the big money. Determined to find that first-ever million-dollar winner,
the Million Dollar Mission returned on January 2, 2008, starting with two
$1 million cases on the board. Over the past several weeks, with no one
winning the top prize, it's now up to twelve $1 million cases on the
board.
Based on the successful format from Endemol that has aired in over 40
countries, "Deal or No Deal" is produced by Endemol USA, a
division of Endemol Holding. David Goldberg is the president of Endemol
USA. The series is executive-produced by Scott St. John.
