The
Police Deny Plans for New Material
2/13/08
Veteran rockers The Police have disappointed fans by announcing they
have no intention to record any more new material.
The British trio - who include Sting on vocals, Stewart Copeland on
drums and guitarist Andy Summers - suspended work together in the
mid-1980s amid reports of tensions within the group, but reformed last
year (07) for an extensive world tour - prompting speculation that
concerts would be followed up by a new record.
But Andy Summers denies the band will be heading back to the recording
studio
- insisting they are only interested in performing their previous hits.
He says, "No project for the moment. We only work for the tour, we
want just the old songs to be good. We don't work on new ones."
