Lindsay Lohan Thrilled to Strip for Marilyn Monroe Photos  2/20/08

Lindsay Lohan jumped at the chance to follow in the footsteps of her idol Marilyn Monroe and strip naked for legendary photographer Bert Stern.

The actress poses nude and hiding behind a strip of sheer fabric in the latest issue of New York magazine.

The pictures are copies of images Stern shot of Monroe just six weeks before she died in 1962, and which appear in his book The Complete Last Sitting.

Lohan, 21, had never stripped off in print or on screen before, but didn't hesitate to emulate her hero Monroe - confessing her home, in the same Los Angeles apartment block where the late star once lived, is a shrine to the Some Like It Hot actress.

She says, "I was comfortable with it (the nudity). I didn't have to put too much thought into it. I mean, Bert Stern? Doing a Marilyn shoot? When is that every going to come up? It's really an honour."
