Kate Moss Parts With Torn Dress  2/24/08

Supermodel Kate Moss has donated a damaged Christian Dior dress to a charity auction aimed at raising funds for cancer research.

The catwalk beauty has handed her once-prized evening gown to her pal James Brown - who has organized the auction for Cancer Research U.K.

The item comes with a backside-exposing tear, as captured on paparazzi cameras last September (07) as Moss left a London party. The infamous photos have helped make the glamorous frock a collector's item.

Other celebrities who have made contributions to Brown's fundraiser are Sienna Miller, Kylie Minogue, Jemima Khan, Lily Allen and Sadie Frost.

Half the items can be viewed on eBay.com, with bidding closing next Friday (29Feb08). The other half will be available to browse and buy in Cancer Research U.K.'s shop on Marylebone High Street, London.
