“Four Chops on American Idol”

February 21, 2008 Results Episode

By Marcus

It was judgment night for the 24 finalist to learn their fate from the millions of Idol fans and voters. First to feel the ax was curly haired Garrett Haley. He has very poor tone quality and perhaps needs to consider a career as a shampoo advertising model. With no regrets, we can say “bye-bye, Garrett.”

The ax then fell upon the girls with Amy Davis receiving the blow. This was due to her performance last night of an ordinary version of “Where The Boys Are.” I bet that she returns to graduate school and hangs up the singing aspirations.

Joanne Borgella was the third to feel the blade. Last night when she sang “I Say A Little Prayer For You,” she failed to impress us and the vote was the consequence. She said she will continue to pursue a singing career and we wish her very well.

Finally the fourth contestant to be sent home packing was Colton Berry and that was no real surprise. There were several other men who did not perform well and he was among them. His version of “Suspicious Minds” was lifeless as yesterday’s sandwich. But my sweet wife says, “he was really cute.”

So there you have it, the first four to be sent home.

Return here next week for latest about the American Idol remaining twenty.

Next week, the Top 10 guys (David Archuleta, Robbie Carrico, Jason Castro, David Cook, Chikezie, David Hernandez, Michael Johns, Luke Menard, Danny Noriega and Jason Yeager) will take the stage once again, singing for America on Tuesday, Feb. 26 (8:00-9:30 PM ET/PT).

Then it’s the ladies’ turn, as the Top 10 girls (Kristy Lee Cook, Asia’h Epperson, Alexandréa Lushington, Kady Malloy, Ramiele Malubay, Syesha Mercado, Amanda Overmyer, Carly Smithson, Alaina Whitaker and Brooke White) perform in hopes of winning America’s vote on Wednesday, Feb. 27 (8:00-9:30 PM ET/PT).

Tune in the following night to see who receives enough votes to stay in the competition, and who goes home. Another two guys and two girls will be eliminated on the live results show Thursday, Feb. 28 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.
