Aimee
Osbourne Defends TV Show Snub

Rock matriarch Sharon Osbourne was infuriated when daughter Aimee
refused to participate in The Osbourne TV series - but her eldest
offspring insists it was a necessary move to help her career.
The aspiring singer moved out of the family's L.A. mansion when the
cameras began filming the reality show in 2002, in a bid to keep her
personal life separate from the career she was planning in music.
And the 24-year-old is adamant she is not, as has been suggested, an
angry recluse, estranged from her family.
She says, "I'm not some weirdo depressed daughter that's afraid of
the world and locks herself in her room all day; I just didn't choose to
do the show.
"I want to be a singer, and I felt if I'd stayed with the
Osbournes and done the whole thing I would have been typecast right away.
(Mother Sharon) was hurt and we definitely had a tough time with
disagreements. I'm more reserved and my private life is very
important."
Aimee Osbourne's siblings Kelly and Jack shot to fame after appearing
on the hit show - with Kelly launching a music and TV career and Jack also
going on to front his own television show.
The Osbourne offspring have two other half-siblings, Louis John and
Jessica Starshine, and a stepbrother Elliot, from rocker Ozzy's first
marriage to Thelma Riley. The Osbournes also adopted friend of the family
Robert Marcato when he lost his mother to cancer.
