“Adios To Four More”
American Idol, February 28, 2008
By Marcus
After nearly thirty-one million votes, four more hopefuls have tasted
the harsh bitter reality of defeat and rejection by the voters. The first
to receive the kiss of gloom was Jason Yeager and that was no surprise. He
has not demonstrated any impressive singing nor has he made contact with
this audience.
The next to be sent home packing was Alexandrea Lushington. Again, this
was not a total surprise. She needs to find herself musically and then
maybe, and only maybe, she will have a chance to make music.
The third one voted out was a very emotional Alaina Whitaker who just
last week turned 17. She was almost beyond recovery to sing her farewell
song, but the American Idol women surrounded her with love and support
that enabled her to sing her final song on the Idol stage. The problem she
had during Wednesday’s performance was that she did not stand out.
Whether or not in the future she will make her music mark is unclear, but
at such a young age and with drive and guts, she can do it.
The last to go was Robbie Carrico who I thought would last into next
week but not more than that. He did not make himself standout from the
pack to become the leader. He will continue drag racing and singing, but
don’t expect him to be among the racing legends nor on the top of the
music charts.
We are now down to 16 finalists and next week return here for the recap
written just for you.
