Simon Cowell Slams Music Scene  1/3/06

Acid-tongued American Idol and The X Factor judge Simon Cowell has blasted the contemporary music scene as "flat" - and even extends his criticism to winners of his hit TV transatlantic talent shows. 

The fiery music mogul, 46, can't bear to listen to chart hits after having his working days saturated by music hopefuls and would rather spend his evenings in silence than endure an ear bashing on the stereo. 

He says, "Honestly, the last thing I want to do when I leave for the day is listen to music. "It would be like if you worked in a fish and chip shop then went home to scoff a battered cod. Can you imagine it? It just doesn't happen. You become sick of it. "I think the music scene is flat at the moment anyway."
