Quirky movie mogul Woody Allen is so set on style, he sends his leading ladies back to the hair and make up trailer on film sets if they don't look right.

Scarlett Johansson, who stars in his latest film, Match Point, admits she came to fear meeting the director on the set in London every morning, because if one hair was out of place he sent her back for touch-ups.

She reveals, "He'll get this squinty look and cock his head to one side and you think, 'Oh, I just spent an hour and a half in make-up. Don't send me back.'

"It's funny because he's not particularly fashionable. But the thing about him is that even though he wears the same pants every day, they're made of the finest cotton and perfectly tailored. All of his shirts are hand cut."
