ABC LAUNCHES THE FIRST OFFICIAL "COMMANDER IN CHIEF" PODCAST
SERIES ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 10
Podcasts Will Be Available on ABC.com and Apple's iTunes
The ABC Television Network will launch the first official
"Commander In Chief" podcast series on TUESDAY, JANUARY 10. The
podcast will be available on ABC.com and Apple's iTunes.
Each week, various "Commander In Chief" cast members,
producers and writers will give their insights into upcoming episodes and
participate in fun segments.
On Monday, January 9, the first podcast will feature an interview with
Geena Davis about "Sub Enchanted Evening," the first of a
special two-part episode airing Tuesday, January10; and Jasmine Anthony,
who plays her 7-year-old daughter Amy on the show, will try to
"stump" Geena with some difficult questions meant to test her
Mensa IQ.
The following week, consulting producers/writers Stuart Stevens and
Steven Cohen discuss the episode "No Nukes Is Good Nukes," the
conclusion of the two-parter airing on Tuesday, January 17, and also talk
about their very different political views, as Stevens is a Republican and
worked for George W. Bush, and Cohen is a Democrat and worked for Clinton.
The "Commander In Chief" podcasts will be available for
download on the official "Commander In Chief" website at
www.mackenziewatch.com, and on Apple's iTunes. Users will be able to
download the podcasts on both sites at no cost. Podcasts will remain
available on each site for an unspecified time.
A podcast is the distribution of audio files for download. You can then
hear the podcast whenever you want from your computer or a portable media
player.
On the special two-part episode titled "Sub Enchanted
Evening" airing on Tuesday, January 10, Mac must deal with a crisis
of international proportions - with potentially devastating consequences -
when a U.S. submarine in a covert operation off the coast of North Korea
runs into trouble. Meanwhile, Mac contemplates whether to run for election
in the next presidential race, with Dickie McDonald (Mark-Paul Gosselaar)
advising what her campaign strategy should be, and her family, minus
Rebecca, supportive of the decision. And Jayne Murray (Natasha Henstridge),
in her new role of lobbyist, finds herself questioning what her future
holds.
Delivering the most-watched Tuesday drama debut on any network in the
last five years, "Commander In Chief" recently garnered a Golden
Globe nomination for Best Television Series, Drama, and a People's Choice
Award nomination for Favorite New TV Drama. In addition, Geena Davis was
nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Performance By An Actress in a
Television Series, Drama, and Donald Sutherland for Best Performance By An
Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-series or Motion Picture Made
for Television. Geena Davis was also nominated for a Screen Actors Guild
Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series.
