American Idol Star Diana DeGarmo to Tread the Boards 1/17/06

Former American Idol contestant Diana DeGarmo is set to join the cast of hit Broadway show Hairspray.

The 18-year-old singer will join the show on 7 February (06), taking the supporting role of Penny Pingleton.

DeGarmo came second to Fantasia Barrino on the third season of American Idol.
