Angelina Jolie's two adopted kids can now legally add Pitt to their surnames after a California judge made it official yesterday (19JAN06).

Almost two months after Pitt started filing paperwork seeking to be the legal adoptive father of Maddox and Zahara, the actor has been given permission to play dad for real.

At a speedy, 60-second hearing in Santa Monica yesterday (19JAN06) lawyers representing Jolie were told that the petition to change her children's names from Jolie to Jolie-Pitt had officially been granted.

The happy couple confirmed they are about to have a baby of their own last week (ends13JAN06) when Jolie told an aid worker in the Dominican Republic that she is pregnant.
