"Withdrawal" 

The Reverend Daniel Webster (Aidan Quinn) confronts his painkiller addiction head on by attempting to quit cold turkey, but his resolve is tested over lunch with his brother Worth (guest star D.W. Moffett) who is pleased at the prospect of having the lovely Judith (Susanna Thompson) by his side in the political arena. 

Meanwhile, Daniel is prompted to have a difficult talk with this father Bertrum (guest star James Rehborn) about care options for his mother (guest star Kathleen Chalfant), who is suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Elsewhere, construction is well underway on the new church as Roger Paxton (Dylan Baker) introduces Bishop Congreve (Ellen Burstyn) to the Vaporelli brothers, prompting her to later tell Roger that while she's aware of the circumstances surrounding the new company, she will have no part of the specifics. 

Christian Campbell, Ivan Shaw, Alison Pill, and Garret Dillahunt also star.
