American Idol Stalker Denied Bail  1/24/06

American Idol finalist Jessica Sierra is "relieved" after a US judge denied bail to the man accused of stalking her.

The 20-year-old reality TV star, who was one of the ten finalists in the 2005 series, claims that 59-year-old Daniel Robert Young has been attempting contact with her since October (05).

She told the California court on Monday (23JAN06), "I told him, 'You are scary. You're scaring me.' He said, 'How do you know I'm scary? You don't even know me.'"

Circuit Judge Walter Heinrich said he believed Young was a possible danger to Sierra and her family.

Police arrested Young outside Sierra's grandparent's house last week (ends20JAN06) after the singer alerted police to his whereabouts.

She says, "(I'm) relieved, for now, just knowing my family is safe and I'm safe."
