Madonna Pushes Out Neighbor to Grab House  1/28/06

Pop superstar Madonna has reportedly bought the house next to her London home, because she needs more room for her staff.

The super-rich Material Girl snapped up the plush Mayfair property for $1,600,000 after a relentless bargaining process.

A neighbor of the star says, "She loves her home in London but she has always wanted more space.

"She had been after the mews house next door for a couple of years. She asked the banking consultant neighbor who owned it if he was prepared to sell and eventually he agreed, although I'm told she drove a hard bargain.

"She plans to move in more of her staff next door."
