Benji Madden and Sophie Monk Engaged  1/3/07

Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden and Australian actress Sophie Monk are engaged.

The couple flew to Australia to spend the holidays with Monk's family, where Madden popped the question with a platinum diamond ring from celebrity jeweler Neil Lane, according to America's People magazine.

Monk's publicist Kacey Spies says, "Benji proposed to Sophie in Australia on Christmas Eve. They are very excited and enjoying this time with family and friends."

In September (06), Madden and Monk, both 27, were first spotted as a couple when they were photographed kissing over lunch at a Los Angeles cafe.

Madden's twin brother Joel, recently split with Hilary Duff and is now reportedly dating socialite Nicole Richie.
