Larry Birkhead and Anna Nicole Smith Conceived Baby on New Years Eve  1/6/07

Celebrity photographer Larry Birkhead insists he and former Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith conceived his daughter Dannielynn on New Year's Eve 2006.

Birkhead was in Las Vegas to ring in the New Year and says the date will always be special to him because that's when his daughter was created.

He is currently involved in a bitter paternity battle with the reality TV star, who claims the baby's father is actually her lawyer and companion Howard K Stern .

Birkhead says, "I've always maintained from day one I was Dannielynn's father. My little baby was actually conceived last New Year's Eve."

A judge has ordered that Smith submit the baby for DNA testing no later than 23 January (07) and there is apparently some good will remaining between the former couple. Birkhead adds, "I've talked to her a couple of times. I sent Christmas presents to the baby and she called and said thank you and said they were pretty."
