“Armed & Famous” Premieres Tonight, Wednesday, Jan. 10 on CBS
On behalf of the ARMED & FAMOUS production, the cast of CBS’ new
reality series, surprised the Muncie, Ind. Police Department with a
special thank you gift, three fully-equipped 2007 Hummer SUVs, all loaded
with standard police vehicle equipment. The presentation was made today
during a community celebration in Muncie, Ind., which marked the end of
production as well as the celebrity’s service as Muncie police officers.
The Muncie Police Department’s Chief, Joe Winkle, was so impressed
with Jack Osbourne’s abilities as a new cadet, that he extended an
invitation to Osbourne during the ceremony to become a full-time member of
the Muncie Police Department. Osbourne, who was moved by the offer,
referred to his time in Muncie as “the most powerful experience he has
ever been through in his life.” Osbourne declined to relocate to Muncie,
Ind., but did ask if the Chief would provide a letter of recommendation
for him to a police academy in Los Angeles County.
Chief Winkle also honored the cast with a commemorative plaque from the
Muncie Police Department that will hang in the Fraternal Order of the
Muncie Police alongside their fellow officers. Munice’s Mayor Dan Canan
presented the cast with a certificate of appreciation from the City of
Muncie for their dedication and service
