Katherine McPhee Makes Special Guest Appearance on Ugly Betty  1/12/07

KATHARINE MCPHEE ("AMERICAN IDOL") MAKES A SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE AS HERSELF ON ABC'S "UGLY BETTY"

Singer and "American Idol" runner-up Katharine McPhee ("American Idol" Season 5) will appear as herself on the hit Golden Globe-nominated comedy series, "Ugly Betty." McPhee will be a celebrity guest at the Mode Fashion Week runway show in the episode "I'm Coming Out," airing THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 1 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

"Ugly Betty" stars America Ferrera as Betty Suarez, Eric Mabius as Daniel Meade, Alan Dale as Bradford Meade, Tony Plana as Ignacio, Ana Ortiz as Hilda, Ashley Jensen as Christina, Becki Newton as Amanda, Mark Indelicato as Justin, Michael Urie as Marc, Kevin Sussman as Walter, Rebecca Romijn as the masked woman and Vanessa Williams as Wilhelmina Slater.

Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Salma Hayek, Silvio Horta ("Urban Legends"), Ben Silverman, ("The Office"), Jose Tamez ("The Maldonado Miracle"), James Parriott ("Grey's Anatomy") and James Hayman ("Joan of Arcadia") are executive producers. The series is produced by Touchstone Television.

Katharine McPhee's "self titled" album will be released on January 30 on RCA Records/19 Recordings. The first single from the album will be "Over It," which will be hitting radio airways soon.

"Ugly Betty" is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish audio via SAP.
