The Crew Goes to Raleigh Next Week Extreme Makeover Home Edition  1/15/07

"EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION" COMES TO THE AID OF A FAMILY WHO CONTINUE TO HELP HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE IN THEIR COMMUNITY DESPITE THEIR OWN HEALTH PROBLEMS

"Riggins Family" -- Ty and the gang rebuild and make safe the home of the Riggins family of Raleigh, NC in a remarkable seven days, on "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," SUNDAY, JANUARY 21 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Linda Riggins grew up poor and in the projects, where she was told she would never make anything of herself. She didn't let this get her down, though, and graduated college with honors and degrees in Childhood Education, Social Work and Women's Studies. She, along with her visually impaired husband, William, have dedicated over fifteen years of service to Building Together Ministries, a non-profit center designed to help disadvantaged parents and children. But recently the Riggins themselves have fallen on tough times: Linda has had several surgeries, their medical bills have become overwhelming and now their house is in bad need of repair. Despite all this, Linda and William greet every day with a smile and focus all of their energies on their young and enthusiastic children and on their community.

Linda and William Riggins have always put other people's needs before their own. In this episode of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," Ty and the gang lend a helping hand to the woman whose own helping hand comforts hundreds of people in her community on a daily basis.

While Ty and the designers, builder Homelife Communities and hundreds of volunteers and workers are rebuilding their home, the Riggins family will go on vacation to Walt Disney World.

The design team for this episode of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" will feature team leader Ty Pennington and designers Ed Sanders, Paul DiMeo, John Littlefield and Tracy Hutson. The series is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. It's executive-produced by Denise Cramsey. David Goldberg is the president of Endemol USA.

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is broadcast with Spanish subtitles via secondary closed captioning.

This program carries a TV-PG parental guideline.
