Diana Ross to Mentor Contestants on American Idol  1/18/07

Music legend Diana Ross hasn't had time to see the hit film Dreamgirls, which is loosely based on her life as a member of The Supremes, but she is making time to appear on her favorite TV show American Idol.

The 62-year-old will appear on the US reality competition during the show's sixth season, which started yesterday (16JAN07).

She explains, "I'm going to do American Idol. I'm going to be a diva-mentor and I'm going to mentor some of the young people, then I'm going to tour right after - March, April, I'll be on the road again."

Ross is planning a world tour to promote her latest album of romantic songs titled I Love You.
