Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are serious about making New Orleans, Louisiana their new home - they've bought a 150-year-old mansion in the city's famous French Quarter outright.

The Hollywood couple won't be renting the six-bedroom, three-storey property as they paid the full $3.75 million asking price at the beginning of the month (JAN07), according to US TV news show Access Hollywood.

And the famous couple are already making friends in the Big Easy - Jolie thrilled regulars at her new local The Abbey Bar when she popped in for a drink two weeks ago.

Barman Matt Dunn says, "She was real nice, everyone was real cool to her."
