Marriage Proposal, a New Home and a Pink Slip: South Beach Comes Alive as
TLC's MIAMI INK Returns With All New Episodes
SILVER
SPRING, Md., Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The taboo of tattoos continues to
diminish as the cast of TLC's trend-setting series MIAMI INK returns with
all new episodes. Having completed thousands of tattoos since they opened
the doors to the shop nearly two years ago, there is now a waiting list
several months long to be tattooed by one of the artists. However, when
the ink dries, will one of the artists find themselves without a job?
Saturated with love, loss, new ventures, celebrities and award-winning
tattoos, the new episodes deliver more emotional stories and delve deeper
into the personal lives of artists Ami James, Chris Nunez, Kat Von D.,
Chris Garver, Darren Brass and Yoji Harada. As the pressure of running a
business heightens and the tattoos become more intricate, the artists find
themselves struggling with each other's personalities and coming to grips
with their new-found fame. The first of 13 new episodes aired on Tuesday,
January 23rd at 10:00 PM (ET/PT).
In
the new episodes Chris Nunez and Ami travel to Orange County Choppers,
home of TLC's American Chopper, to give Paul Teutul Sr. and his girlfriend
tattoos. The rock group Korn comes to town on the Family Values Tour and
Darren tattoos the bass player Fieldy, and hip-hop star Lloyd Banks comes
back to Miami where Garver finishes the elaborate "Rotten Apple"
back-piece he started several months earlier. Other highlights from the
new episodes include Crystal, who recounts the story of finding her mother
dead after she was murdered by her father a few weeks earlier. Yoji raises
the spirits of a homeless man who is struggling to support himself through
his palm leaf artwork and Chris Nunez, who for the first time in his
14-year career helps someone propose to his girlfriend through a tattoo.
It's
not all tattooing for these artists. Each of them has made a personal
commitment to give back to the community that embraced them by getting
involved with several charities including Hands On Miami. Motorola entered
into a partnership with Ami to create custom-designed skins for cell
phones. Additionally, he and Chris Nunez are getting ready to open a bar
on South Beach called Love-Hate. Darren indulges his passion for
motorcycles while Yoji, his wife and baby move to a bigger apartment.
