STUBHUB FanStats(SM) -- Fans Flock From Across Country to See Super Bowl XLI

StubHub Sales Data Shows Fans Traveling From 35 Different States

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 01/30/07 -- NFL fans across the country are fired up for the 41st NFL Super Bowl, which features two teams that have not participated in a Super Bowl game for over two decades. The Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts fans have been frantically securing their Super Bowl XLI tickets through online marketplace StubHub for a game that has no on-sale to the general public. StubHub has revealed its sales data on where fans traveling to Super Bowl XLI are coming from. The data is based on the home state of each individual buyer for tickets purchased on StubHub.com through Monday.

Super Bowl XLI has attracted buyers from thirty-five states to purchase their tickets via StubHub. The largest contingent of fans (27% percent as of 1/29) buying tickets hails from the state of Illinois, home to the NFC Champion Bears. Florida, home to Miami's Dolphin Stadium where the game will be held, represents 14% of the buyers. The Bears appear to have the fan advantage, as only 9% of fans are making the trip from Indiana, presumably in support of the AFC Champion Colts. Rounding out the top five states are New York and California, with seven and five percent, respectively.
