Drew Barrymore Hosts Feb 3 with Breakout Artist Lily Allen
NEW YORK – January 30, 2007 – NBC's "Saturday Night Live"
welcomes Drew Barrymore back to the program on February 3 with musical
guest Lily Allen and, fresh from his SAG Award victory,
SNL's youngest host in its over 30-year history, Drew Barrymore first
hosted on November 20, 1982 while starring in Steven Spielberg's
blockbuster "E.T." This is her fifth time hosting the program.
Barrymore will soon be seen opposite Hugh Grant in the romantic comedy
"Music and Lyrics" and in the poker drama "Lucky You"
with Eric Bana. Previous credits include other romantic comedies opposite
SNL alums Jimmy Fallon ("Fever Pitch") and Adam Sandler in
"The Wedding Singer" and "50 First Dates." In addition
to her soaring acting career – starring in over thirty features –
Barrymore has launched a successful production company as well, Flower
Films. Flower Films was behind the blockbuster "Charlie's
Angels" and its sequel "Full Throttle," "Donnie Darko"
as well as the romantic comedy hit "Never Been Kissed. Among her many
credits are "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind,"
"Duplex;" "Riding In Cars With Boys," "Ever
After: A Cinderella Story," "Boys on the Side,"
"Batman Forever," Woody Allen's "Everyone Says I Love
You" and her unforgettable appearance in the horror smash
"Scream."
Joining Barrymore on Feb. 3 is one of the most talked-about acts for
2007 – Lily Allen. Already a sensation in the U.K., with her first
record "Alright, Still" debuting at No. 2 on the charts and its
first single "Smile" topping the charts for six weeks in a row.
Now, Allen's unique sound crosses the pond on a wave of press attention,
garnering praise from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Vibe and Spin and
the adoration of millions of fans thanks to her massive online presence.
"Saturday Night Live," is from SNL Studios in association
with Broadway Video. The creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels.
