Celebrity Big Brother Winner Invited to Meet the Queen and Tony Blair  1/31/07

Bollywood superstar-turned-reality TV show winner Shilpa Shetty is stunned by the impact she has made in Britain - within days of her triumph on Celebrity Big Brother she has been invited to meet Prime Minister Tony Blair and Queen Elizabeth II.

Shetty catapulted to international fame when she became the alleged victim of racial abuse in the Big Brother house.

She was embraced by the UK public who helped her win the show - and has now been offered the chance to meet The Queen at a Commonwealth Day celebration in March (07), and Prime Minister Blair at the House Of Commons in London in February (07).

An overwhelmed Shetty says, "It's a huge honor. I am humbled.

"The row has been politicized but why wouldn't I want to meet Tony Blair? I would want to meet with anyone who wants to meet me and who has shown solidarity."
