Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher in Drink Spill Fiasco  1/2/08

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are so unpopular with a New York bar owner, he was overjoyed when one of his employees spilt a drink on the couple.

The pair, who married in 2005, was on a night out at The Box on Manhattan's Lower East Side earlier this week (begs31Dec07) when a performer accidentally tipped a beverage over them.

Owner of the venue, Simon Hammerstein - grandson of Broadway lyricist Oscar Hammerstein - publicly asked for the offending employee, a dancer, to be chastised over the incident.

However, in an email to the bar's general manager, obtained by New York gossip column PageSix, Hammerstein criticizes the Hollywood couple, insisting they got what they deserved.

He is reported to have written, "Ashton and Demi, they are so up their own arses. And they spend nothing. I can't stand those two, and I applaud whoever spilt a drink on them."
