Avril Lavigne's Tears Over Lil' Johns Show Hijack  1/4/08

Singer Avril Lavigne rang in 2008 with tears in her eyes - after rapper Lil' Jon hijacked her New Year's Eve (31Dec07) bash.

The Sk8er Boi hitmaker was scheduled to perform the countdown to midnight at New York's Prive club on Monday, but was reportedly left "visibly upset" after the hip-hop star "grab his own mike and steal (sic) the show", according to New York gossip column PageSix.

The source tells the publication Lavigne, 23, wailed to husband Deryck Whibley, "I wanted to do the countdown!"
