Label
Drops Former American Idol Taylor Hicks
1/8/08
Taylor Hicks has become the second former American Idol winner to be
dropped by record label J Records in the space of three weeks.
Hicks won the 2006 series of the TV talent contest and went on to
release his self-titled debut studio album on J Records.
But the company has now decided to let Hicks go - just weeks after
American Idol's second season winner Ruben
Studdard was also dropped.
A label spokesperson tells Entertainment Weekly, "Taylor is going
to record his next album on his own. He is no longer on the J Records
roster."
